Batch Miami Gastropub

Once again I found myself with the very fortunate, and immense responsibility of managing a brand’s identity. For this opportunity, I was given the task of creating custom Iconography for BatchMiami Gastropub and their upcoming monthly community events. Production was as always, a pleasing experience thanks to Jensen Taylor from Sun & Moon Photography.

Establishing a direction was initially fairly straightforward; create a different vector shape for each new event or occasion. However, what quickly became extremely important was the focus on maintaining brand consistency both for the sake of the user experience as well as the client’s goals. Since every new event would call for a different logo orientation, it was accepted that the barrel shape could be slightly altered to create the right visual cue. I tried therefore to maintain consistency with the treatments of the icon/shapes, outlines, strokes and shading. As always, I began with a sketch to narrow down the correct poses and props to use first. Creating a vector shape based on the sketch was a fast process, once the look and feel was approved.

Adobe Illustrator allowed me to quickly create the vector graphics needed to reproduce the barrel shape, as well as all the new orientations and icons. Transparent outlines were created so that the marketing department could print out the icons and customize menus, specials, posters, digital ads among other marketing collateral. I’m proud to have worked with such an impactful and thoughtful local brand, and see my work displayed across the multiple venues
